About Dance with Gabby

The Studio

Founded by Gabrielle Mabilia, a dancer with over 26 years of experience, Dance with Gabby was born during the height of Australia’s COVID-19 lockdowns in 2020.

With the closure of dance studios and the forced shutdown of performing arts, Gabby’s network were searching for ways to connect with dance during this time, and inject a bit of fun into their new lives at home.

What started as a project quickly became an online movement, recruiting dancers all across Australia who were selling out Gabby’s 60 minute classes.

After 18 months of only existing virtually, when the world reopened DWG moved into a studio in Hawthorn, a suburb in Melbourne’s East. DWG now offers a variety of casual classes, designed for all skill levels, with a modern approach of a new routine in each class so you can simply book and attend when suits you - just like exercise classes.

As the studio has grown, so has our offerings. DWG now provides services nationally across Australia. Explore the full service offering here.

What hasn’t changed is the DWG philosophy. A fun, friendly and welcoming environment that caters for the new-to-dance and the experienced alike.

Introducing Gabrielle, Dance with Gabby’s Founder

Hi Dancers,

Gabby here! Dance has been a huge part of my life for over 26 years, performing on stage and screen throughout my youth, before moving into teaching - something I’ve been doing for over 10 years now.

The evolution of DWG from my lounge-room to studio has been extremely special to me and I feel so lucky to introduce the magic of dance into the lives of so many.

I hope to see you in a class soon,

Gabby x
